Frequently asked vehicle storage questions
Do I need to deliver my vehicle or can I have it picked up?
We can pick up your car New Zealand wide. We will pick it up, or engage Brian Roberts Towing for the collection. Rates within Auckland are from $150-$250 per car.
Can I use the valet parking at Auckland International Airport(AIA)?
We can pick up or drop off your car to Auckland International Airport Valet Parking. Your car needs to be road legal with a current WOF and Registration, and have comprehensive insurance. This service is charged at $250 each way.
Do I need insurance when my car is in storage?
We do not carry insurance covering your car in the event of fire, theft or damage. In the Vehicle Storage Agreement you will indicate whether you are carrying insurance or are self insured, personally assuming all risk of loss or damage.
What is the “In out charge”?
If you want access to your car we need to remove it from storage for you. The “In out charge” is a $50 access charge, and is payable each time you wish to access your vehicle. This system helps keep all our clients' vehicles secure.
Can you organise a Warrant Of Fitness (WOF) for my car?
If your car needs the WOF renewed while it is stored with us, we can manage this for you for $250, plus the cost of any repairs required. We will discuss any repairs needed with you before carrying them out.
Can you repair my car?
We have a qualified mechanic on site able to carry out small repairs. This service is available on application. Talk to us for more info.
Are there late payment fees?
Our low monthly charges are based on successful automatic payments made on the 1st of the month. Late payments will incur a $50 charge for every ten days the payment is late, for example on the 10th, 20th and 30th of each month.
What is included in the Vehicle Storage with Maintenance option?
If you choose the storage with maintenance package, your car is connected to a battery conditioner, is run for 20 minutes each month and driven a short distance (within our property) to cycle the brakes and ensure everything is working as it should. We will inform you of any issues with your vehicle.
Will my car be covered when it is stored?
If you would like your car covered to protect it from dust accumulating, you will need to provide a good quality cover for your car. Cars stored outside will not be covered – we have found covers quickly blow off outdoors.
